sairam friends,

It is my humble request to everyone who reads this

” try to read books written by pujyashri H.H. Narasimha swamiji ” on shirdi saibaba. Books such as “Life of saibaba” “Devotees experiences” are truely beautiful.

I was reading about the life of Narasimha swamiji and his books about shirdi saibaba from 6.4.2008 …i was hooked by the wonderful service rendered by Narasimha swamiji to spread Baba’s glory from 1936. It was Narasimha swamiji who created a country wide movement to spread the name and fame of our shirdi saibaba.

Though i was too depressed thinking about my career and personal life, my faith in sai baba made me survive by reading Baba’s life written by Narasimha swamiji.

On 8.4.2008, i hugged the book “Life of saibaba” to my chest and slept praying baba ..i was deeply worried and in pain thinking surely the next day onwards my life will be good.

That night i had a dream like this..

“I am walking some where between few houses in a cement street between the 2 row of houses. Suddenly i fall down and got hit exactly on the back of my head …

I was shocked by the blow …and i could see people running to me and wondered how could i standup when lots of blood is bleeding from the head.

I am also shocked but i myself wonder if i have pain or not..

I woke up in the morning and wondered what does baba mean by this dream..Infact i never saw saibaba in the dream..its my firm faith that we doesnt have to see babas form to learn its a dream from saibaba’s blessings.

In evening while i was walking in road, felt i must request my sister to take care of her baby. I also felt probably baba has protected me from being hurt in any accident.

Then i came home n was searching for few saibaba materials . I came across this leela of baba which happened during sai baba’s life time

Baba has blessed Sai sharan Anand during his life time the same way when he had a injury on head …

read the incident which happened during baba’s life time..

Prangondji and his wife, Manigori had gone on a pilgrimage to Shirdi. Baba blessed them and Sai Sharanand was born on 05.04.1889. The village was Mota, Bardoli Taluka in Surat. He was named Vamanrao Prana Govind Patel.

At the age of three, he was seriously ill and his parents were worried about his survival. Baba appeared as a Fakir and gave his mother Udi. He asked her to give it to her son as Tirth. He mentioned that there was a scar on his back towards the right side. “He will be a great Satpurush,” said the Fakir. The mother followed the instructions and the child recovered.

Vamanrao did his primary schooling at Surat and Ahmadabad. He completed his B.A. in 1910 from Elphinstone College, Bombay and subsequently passed LL.B. in 1912.

Vaman had a questioning mind and he kept asking his professors and other saints whether God was real or a nebulous phenomenon. No one could give him a satisfactory answer. His father took him to Shri Balakrishna Maharaj, a disciple of Swami Samarth. When he asked the question, the Maharaj flew into a rage, but gave him two books, the Life of Akkalkot Maharaj and Eknath Bhagavat. Still unsatisfied, he went to Shirdi on his father’s advice in 1911. Baba seeing him said, “Why do you worry about God; there is God.”

Sai Sharan AnandAfter joining a solicitor’s firm in 1913, he came to Shirdi during his vacation and stayed there for one year, as Baba refused permission for his return. The parents were worried about his whereabouts and welfare. They consulted an astrologer who said,

“He is safe in God’s paradise (Shirdi)”. Permission was finally granted to him so he returned home. In 1916, he came to the station to see his friend who was bound for Shirdi, when he too suddenly decided to join him. He stayed at Shirdi for 21 days.

One day, he sustained a severe head injury when a huge bolder stone accidentally fell on his head, as he walked past Butti Wada. He started bleeding profusely and was semi conscious. By Baba’s grace he recovered without even a scar or internal damage.

When Vaman Rao was questioned about his injury, he said he experienced divine bliss. From that day, he became a staunch devotee of Baba. He wrote Guru Smriti in Gujarati in 1932. In 1946, he wrote Baba’s life called ‘Sai Baba’. Baba gave him Sanyas in Dakor, appearing as a Fakir and named him Sai Sharan Anand. In 1961, he wrote ‘Sai Baba the Superman’.

A devotee gave him Baba’s Padukas. At first he refused. Later he accepted them and installed them at Ahmadabad where Baba’s temple, called ‘Vishnu Dharmalaya’, houses them. Thousands of devotees flock there, to have darshan, and many healings and miracles are witnessed. He states that from 1952, after his sanyas, Baba was with him all the time getting His service done through him. On 25.08.1982, he took Samadhi.

thats the Leela which happened during babas life time.

when i read the above incident of Sai sharan Anandji who never had any pain when a stone fell on his head and even blood came out…he answered “He felt a divine bliss”

Friends, i was worried about my life and wondered if saibaba of shirdi has some thing good in store for me and true to my feelings baba has infact blessed me through this dream…Sai baba of shirdi has blessed me by giving this blow on my head in dream, made the blood come out and shocked me but true to the above leela during babas life time

“i feel saibaba has really blessed me whole heartedly and surely sai has washed away the sins i had done in past by making me feel the shock in dream”

Baba i am thankful to you for this beautiful dream and also answering me with the incident which happened in your life.

Baba please make me do things as you wish..I am your child …all i request is please bless me to make my parents happy and satisfied that i settled in my life

Sai ki jai

Venkat Raman

Sai friends,

I would like to write few words about how Shirdi saibaba lived during his life time. It was approx the year 1854 when Baba first manifested himself in shirdi village - maharastra , india. As me and many true shirdi sai devotees say let us always see Baba’s life time from this stage. Theres no clear correct story of how sai was born etc. Even if 1000 research with proof is made , many agree that “A saint must be seen for the teachings and life he has lead’ .As the rivers origin is hard to find ,so is that of the saint. So its my humble feeling to always start baba’s life time from the time he appeared as a 16 year old lad in shirdi. The age is also not the concern .What really matters is how Baba led a simple , pure life which we must take as inspiration and appreciate it. When Sai was doing penance sitting under the neem tree, he has no name , no body knew how he came there . The people of shirdi used to wonder who is boy is …how come he is able to meditate day and night not minding the cold and hot climate. For the first 3 years this is how baba lived in shirdi…wearing Torn clothes , used to roam here n there, never bothered to have food …. He used to carry two pots in his hands from the well and water the neem trees and many tulsi plants which he kept in the present samadhi mandhir area. Many sadhus ( saints ) used to come to shirdi as it was on the way to pandharpur and many other pilgrimage places. Saint Devidas already was in shirdi before Baba came and there was another saint called jankidas.

Gem of Saints : There was a famous saint called “Gangagir baba”. He came to shirdi and watched our sai from distance . This young lad with great hardships in the hot sun, took water from the well, carried two pots in his hands and walked towards the present samadhi mandhir surface where there was a Neem tree to water it. Gangagir Baba never even spoke to our young sai …He just noticed this work of sai for welfare of the shirdi people and asked the village folks “When did this person come here ? He is a pure gem. He has great worthiness . It is the great good fortune of the village that you have acquired this gem” . Then Gangagir baba met our sai and they both talked for a while with love. It was around 1857 ( approx ) Sai baba ( the young lad ) disappeared from shirdi. No body knew where he went. Please friends avoid to trust stories speaking about where sai baba would have gone. Always take sai satcharita written by hamadpant alone as the main source of shirdi saibaba’s life. Sai himself never wanted us to know about his birth and what he did before he appeared in shirdi. Few say hes born as Brahmin and few that he’s Muslim and few say he would have born by Gods grace and not in the womb. Personally i feel Sai baba of shirdi as a Messenger of God and God himself but Sai never never never even once mentioned or accepted him as God. This shows how humble is our sai contradictory to the present day Gurus coming up in india and abroad like mushrooms. Sai has said he is “a servant of God ” and when asked how devotees are benefited through him he humbly said ”

I have abundant blessings of my Guru and by his Grace the difficulties of the devotees are removed and they are benefitted” …. Later in 1858 the same young boy came again to shirdi with Chandpatils marriage procession. When he got down from the cart infront of the Kandoba temple ( the village diety ) the priest of the temple Mahalsapathi welcomed the fakir saying “Aao Sai” welcome sai. This is how the young boy got the name Sai Baba - meaning Saintly father….sai meaning “saint of saints” and Baba meaning father. Now Sai baba started doing few works for welfare of shirdi village and the people .Sai led a very simple life. Sai used to stay most of his time in the dilapilated Masjid ….roam all over the village but never went beyond neamgoan.During his life time in Shirdi Sai never wanted or wished to leave the village. Now a days people call themselves as SadGuru/saint but roaming around the globe to gather crowd but look at how simple our sai has been.

Sai kept quiet in shirdi leading a simple life like a poor fakir in the masjid which he called as “Dwarakamai” .

Sai has assured “Go where ever you wanted to go but you will be drawn to shirdi like a sparrow tied to thread”

What Sai means to say is “A good hearted soul where ever they are will be given some kind of guidance to start praying Shirdi saibaba and gain his blessings for a good life” During sai baba’s life time itself many sai did many leela to appear in dream of a devotee and make them come to shirdi. In some cases people came to have darshan of our saibaba by knowing about baba through their friends and relatives.

How Sai Baba appeared and what people thought about him :

Saibaba of Shirdi always wore torn and tattered clothes, sits where ever he pleases, appearing as a crazy mad poor fakir. Am extremely sorry to use the word “mad” but what will you think about a person who is living in a old masjid, roams here and there, sits even on a dirt. Naturally people did thought that this is some ordinary poor fakir and many even thought that hes a mad person.

Lets remember one nature of sai as its of all good saints of india. Sai was always absorbed in Brahman - self realized state of mind. Sai always remembered God and was chanting Hari’s ( lords ) name in his mind. But only his appearance was that of a Poor fakir. Sometimes , Sai baba would go and sit at a stream, sometimes under the margosa - neem tree and sometimes in somebody’s farm ..The clothes he wore were tattered and he always had Ferocious appearance. Friends, Now a days i come across shirdi saibaba devotees who goes to baba temple and feel “Sai baba is happy, only am suffering…sai is sitting in a golden thrown with beautiful dresses , millions comes to him with offerings - dakshina and sai has millions to care, thats why saibaba dint bothered my prayers” Remember this always friends… In shirdi or any shirdi saibaba temple , See only the Soul of sai . The atman of Sai.

The soul of sai is always unattached. It never enjoys any conforts for sai avatar itself is for the comfort and welfare of devotees.

Sai seems to accept offerings but he is detached from it. Sai only looks at your devotion and love with pure heart. When Sai baba seems to be happy , it shows sai is happy to have a devotee like you who has pure love on him. So please leave all the frustration and doubts that Sai baba of shirdi is not bothering your prayers and not helping you. What can sai do when your past bad karma is so high that sai himself has to let the nature work untill all your sins are washed away going through sufferings and if you continue to show your faith and love on sai…surely someday you will have all peace in your life by the grace of saibaba

Who could have imagined that this poor fakir watering plants with mud pot in the hot sun will one day be so famous due to his spiritual powers that thousands of people will come to have his darshan in his later years and after his samadhi in 1918 millions will come to this village to get his blessings from his samadhi and the place he lived - Dwarakamai ?

There’s another beautiful incident which will help you understand how gradually the people of shirdi learnt that Sai baba is not a poor ordinary person but a saint with powers beyond imagination. Anandnath Maharaj was a disciple of the great Saint Akkalkot maharaj. He himself led life like a saint and many used to come to Svargoan village near Yeola to have darshan and get his blessings. Once few people from shirdi like Madhavrao Balwant deshpande, Dagadu bhau, Bhau Gayake, Nandram Shivram Marwadi, Bhagchand marwadi wentto Savargaon village to have his darshan and blessings. They had good time there and when they were about to leave in their cart, Anandnath Maharaj suddenly came running and sat in their card saying “I will come with you”. The people from Nevargaon and Yeola along with shirdi people who went to meet him tried to convince him that theres nothing for him to do in shirdi and saibaba is only a poor fakir but they din’t listen to them and started to shirdi in cart. Anandnath saw saibaba in his Dwarakamai and with pure respect on him said ” This is a diamond, You do not know its worth. Even if it is on a dunghill , it is a diamond” .At that time sai baba has not attained fame and the village folk believed him to be an ordinary person. A diamond is living in your own mind : Friends , did you see how our sai baba has led a life of simplicity and purity. Sai baba never expected any honor or respect for him. Sai only looks at how much love you have on him. Sai always lived detached from earthly comforts. Saibaba says “i am your Antaryami and Antarvasini” meaning “the one who lives inside your mind” so if saibaba is a diamond then imagine we as shirdi sai baba devotees must be like a diamond. Our character must shine . But why we are not realizing the diamond in us. Its because theres so much of dirt in us . The dirt in us are our ego, unwanted desires, jealously, anger, lust and greediness. This moment pray to shirdi saibaba that you will offer all these bad qualities in you in his holy feets which sai will throw in the fire of his dhuni.

Let us all show pure devotion on God, always chant sai sai sai and develop good habits and thoughts in us so that our mind gets purified. Surely you will realize shirdi saibaba living in your heart and guiding you holding your hands internally in every aspect of your life. Always do good deeds, think good, act good and chant in your mind “SAI SAI SAI….” remembering shirdi saibaba . This alone is enough to realize that theres a diamond in your heart which will make your life shine forever and ever…

written with facts from the book “sai samartha satcharita”

Dear Sai friends,

Like holy river Ganges and the stream in the village mixes in the ocean, when we listen to stories of saints , our mind gets purified. When you listen to the below story of saibaba full of devotion and faith, your heart will be filled with peace.

See how loving devotees prayed to Sai baba and he sai gave them darshan and was pleased with them.

Das Ganu Maharaj was instrumental in spreading Saibaba’s fame in pune, Ahmadnagar, Sholapur, Konkan and in Mumbai ( bombay in those days )

By grace of sri sai, Das ganu wrote life stories of various good saints and performed kirtans free. Once he was invited to Koupineshwar temple to do kirtan. Danu accepted to do it with out a penny as fee.

Numerous people were listening to Das ganu’s kirtan. Some appreciated his expressions, some his story and some his gestures and poems. It was always the habit of Das ganu maharaj to keep a portrait of shirdi sai baba.

A poor devotee called Cholkar has goose pimples over his body as he was engrossed in listening to Ganu’s description of saints, his poems and also the leela of shirdi sai. This cholkar was employed in a government office , his job was in probation and any time he might loose the job. He had a big family , all members were dependant on his little salary.

He prayed to baba ” Baba i poor and have to look after my family. My life depends on my job .So help me pass in the exam and make my job permanent. I vow you that if you fulfill my wish, i will myself come to shirdi, have your darshan and distribute sugar candy to all devotees present there”

As we know the powers of saibabas blessings, Cholkar did passed the exam and his job was made permanent. He was satisfied with BABA’s powers but being a person from big family he was not able to save money to travel to shirdi.

They say its easy to cross a mountain but hard for a family man to cross the burdens of his family…So cholkar decided to exclude sugar from his everyday Tea…Thus he was able to save some money over the days and finally when he had enough money, he came to shirdi.

As soon as cholkar saw saibaba , he fell in his feets and said “Baba you satisfied me by making my job permanent but i had difficulty to have your darshan all these days ,now all my wishes are fulfilled”

Cholkar was a guest in Mr.Jog’s house. So when he was about go leave, Baba uttered these words ” Give him lots of cups of tea wth plenty of sugar”

Jog was surprised but cholkar started having tears in his eyes as baba and him alone knew the reason. Baba said “I have received your promised sugar. The period of sacrifice for you is over, cholkar.”

Baba also said (sorry friends in video i wrong used the name cholkar instead of baba…its hard to tell things properly when we speak live”

“Any one of you, where ever you are, when ever you come to you with your hands stretched , with devotion , i am there to respond to your faith, day and night.

Though i am bodily present at this place and you may be beyond the seven seas , and dping anything there, i am aware of it immediately.

You may be any where, i am always with you . I reside in your heart and i am with in you.Do not keep distance with me .There is no difference between you and me. Who ever regards me this way, is most fortunate.

Friends, i feel the beautiful meaning in this incident is saibaba has not seen the fact that Cholkar sacrificed the sugar in his tea to save money to travel to shirdi. what baba says is Cholkar has given up his sense of taste to have darshan of sai. This is pure devotion.

when ever we feel Baba is not helping us, did we think for a minute if we surrendered our senses - Anger, desires, lust, ego and all the unwanted feelings in the feets of shirdi saibaba ?

The moment we surrender our senses to holy feets of Sai …the moment we surrender our body, mind and soul to saibaba of shirdi, Sai will reward us plenti fold someday, if sai thinks its good for us.

sai bless you friends

Venkat

Always in holy feets of shirdi saibaba

Sai sai friends,

This is my first video which i made keeping shirdi saibaba statue of my house, lit lamps n started speaking about few incidents in babas life time….am not really comfortable because many places i am stammering and dun really know if people can understand what i speak…Forgive me for this …lets see if i can improve..

This video of saibaba’s life time is about devoted couples Nanasaheb nimonkar and his wife who served baba .Once when Nana’s elder son in Belapur was not feeling well, the wife wanted to go there and stay there for 4 days as it was time of pola festival..But Nimonkar asked her to go Belapur and come back immediately….the lady was in pain as she cant talk against him. As those days women cant even imagine to go against her husband

when she saw baba near Sathe wada and fell in his feet to get ashirwad..Baba immediately said “Go now..go soon, take care of your son, enjoy pola festival and come back leisurely after 4 days”…This made Nimonkar’s wife soooooo touched and gave her unimaginable joy.

What we have to note here is , the women never asked baba to convince her husband to allow her to come back leisurely. Saints heart is such that they cares for us even when we never expect they must for little things in life.

Seconly shirdi saibaba knows the present, past and future . Sai alone knows whats good for us.So please always remember baba. Do not worry about problems in your office and family. Surrender to baba whole heartedly.

Sai will make your family members and friends do what you want them to do..The key here is when baba is not helping you, understand , its for good and when Baba is helping you, he never takes credit. All sai expects from you is pure love on each other…
